Vanessa and Thomas got married on a stunning autumn day at Hornington Manor in North Yorkshire. We would class ourselves as a Yorkshire Wedding Photographer, but really, that's only because we are based in East Yorkshire. It doesn't have any bearing on where we photograph weddings and that is what we love about our job - we are always travelling and we don't tie ourselves to a small number of venues like some photographers do. We can be at one end of the country one week in the Lake District, then the next week we could be in Surrey, Sussex, Dorset or the Cotswolds - with a stop off at Cheshire, Derbyshire or Nottinghamshire in between! However, it is always lovely to photograph a wedding closer to home, particularly when it's a venue as stunning as Hornington Manor.
Hornington Manor must be one of the finest Yorkshire wedding venues available, it really is breathtaking. The grounds, the barn and the main house itself all made perfectly idyllic backdrops for our documentry wedding photography.
We began the morning at Hornington Manor with Vanessa and her bridal party, while George - our regular and amazing second shooter - joined Thomas and the groomsmen as they got ready in Leeds. Both Vanessa and Tom were so relaxed, but at the same, extremely excited for the day to come. Thomas and the boys stopped off for a quick pint at a local pub near the church, while Vanessa made her way to the ceremony.
It was the perfect wedding ceremony, Vanessa and Thomas' young son watched on with the rest of the congregation. Vanessa and Tom laughed and smiled throughout - just like they did through the whole day.
After confetti at the church, we all made our way back to Hornington Manor. The sunlight was golden so it was the perfect time for a stroll around the grounds, which allowed us to get some natural photos of the newlyweds together. Then, after a few group shots, it was onto some beautifuly written speeches and then an amazing three course meal for everyone (thank you - it was delicious!) As desserts were served, we noticed the sun was setting, so we all dashed out to grab a few shots just as the sun went down. The day ended with dancing and fun on the dance floor and we really could not have wished to have photographed a better wedding with a more lovely couple. All the venue and catering staff were so attentive as well - we would highly recommend all the suppliers involved in the wedding. We hope you like our selection of images - it was so hard to cut it down to just 100!
